Can There Be Joy In Cancer?

The great inspirational teacher, writer and speaker Leo Buscaglia (1924 - 1998) told the story of a woman dying of cancer:

"I don't have long to live," this woman said. "But I have never been so happy or alive. I was living with a stranger and the stranger was me."

It is amazing what can happen when we drop the pretense of who we present ourselves as being and discover who we really are.

With nothing to lose, we become more loving, more compassionate, more forgiving and we can finally laugh at ourselves and let the world laugh with us.

We can become a lot more fun and appreciative of so much in life that we used to take for granted, as we become the special person we always were.
