A Flood Of Folly

We in Los Angeles are in a severe draught and many of us are striving to conserve water, which is something we should do in any circumstance.

But a few days ago a Water Main burst flooding 20 million gallons of water across UCLA and the surrounding area, causing millions of dollars in damage.

That so much vital water was wasted is deeply regretful. But thankfully no one was killed or severely injured as the torrent of water swept through on its way to storm drains and then into the sea.

What all this shows us is the folly of mankind.

However, I will continue to conserve water a few gallons at a time. For mankind's folly aside, it is still the right thing to do and this small act sets a fine example. If enough of us do it, eventually we will make up for the 20 million gallons of water wasted by folly.
