Compassion

Some people selfishly assert themselves to do as they like, sometimes regardless of their impact on others, whether in awareness or in ignorance. Here are two lessons those people have taught me:

First, I used to be one of those people, but was often unaware. I know that now because I see my reflection in them. My heart was in the right place but at times my actions didn't measure up.

Second, When I see people conduct themselves as I used to, my first reaction is anger, but then it transforms into empathy and finally forgiveness. With time, they will hopefully grow beyond where they are now.

Sometimes I'm still blind to my actions, but increasingly I see the light of awareness and it guides me to compassion.
