If you could ask God one question, what would it be? Might you ask God, "What is the meaning of life? Or "Is there life after death?" Or "Will I ever see my dead loved ones again?" Or even, "In what form do you exist?" But my one question would be a little different. It would be:
"Why after all of our millenniums on earth, do we as mankind continue to be ravaged by war?" Only God can answer this question, but here is an answer I envision:
"My son, I will answer you as I would each member of humanity. War is Karma. It is the bloody revenge sought lifetime after lifetime by mankind against one another. Instead of following my teachings of 'Do unto others as you would have done unto you,' or "Thou shall not kill," mankind seeks revenge instead of leaving each person's Karma with me.
"I gave you one another to love and cherish, and I gave you hope and forgiveness and I gave you the means to make this dimension your own little heaven. I also gave you other human emotions such as anger, greed and jealousy and often for many of you, it is those emotions that control your actions.
"My intent in giving you this range of emotions was for your personal growth, for you to rise above your base instincts to your higher being, where you will discover my kingdom is already within you, and it is a kingdom of love, understanding and kindness, a place of healing and peace for your soul. Some people attain that level of growth and live joyful lives on this plain and then rise in subsequent lives to higher plains of existence.
"But most of you return time and again to a lower plain of existence in which you live now, having learned little or nothing from mankind's history. You often use those magnificent brains I gave you to create ever more powerful ways to harm one another. And you find ways to justify or ignore all the killings, maiming and orphaning that comes from your actions, only to commit them again.
"Given the way you as mankind live, war is logical. It comes from frustration and hopelessness as you allow oppression, ignorance and disease to rule your world. Children in what you call the 'third world' die in vast numbers every day from diseases you cured or learned to treat in what you call the 'industrial world.'
"But you deny them treatment, and ignore their suffering and many of you even fight to deny medical treatment to those closest to you, so as to save money, something that when you die, you cannot take with you. Yet even more ironic, you will freely spend your resources that you refused to use to cure disease on the scorching and deadly flame of war.
"Even in what you call 'the holy land,' you embarrass yourselves by fighting with one another over that 'holy land,' as some of you claim it for yourselves and try to oppress others who feel it equally of value. In my name, you grab land you claim I gave you and only you, not your brothers and sisters, and you willingly imprison or kill them in my name for making a claim on that land, the same claim you made.
"It is up to each of you. You can allow poverty, sickness, oppression and hopelessness and ignorance to continue to exist in the face of your greed, anger and other hostile emotions. If so, wars and other catastrophes will continue to plague you in this life and all of your lives to come, for war is a horrific manifestation of your own failures.
"Until you finally learn the lessons of love, compassion and forgiveness and to seek me in each of you, recognizing that you are all brethren and in need of love and support from one another, war and Hell on earth is what you will have. But when you learn those lessons, you will uplift this dimension to prosperity and peace and you will elevate yourself and all mankind to share in the full range of my blessings."
