The Way To Peace

The U.S. with all of its weapons of mass destruction and its killer drones, death squads, hundreds of thousands of soldiers and contractors and military bases all over the world, and with its secret prisons and torture chambers cannot find peace, no matter how strongly it threatens its ever growing number of enemies. Yet even as it races to moral and fiscal bankruptcy, its answer is to spend more money on military might.

But if the U.S. would really like peace, it must approach it through peaceful means, rather than by strong arm intimidation. For people will see that we Americans are sincere in seeking peace as we reach out to them with hearts that care and ears that listen to them.

In a world of immense resources, much of the world lives in poverty, and many people live in a world of oppression, ignorance, hopelessness and desperation. But everyone understands love and kindness, and welcomes those who will offer them a helping hand, after listening to them, to understand their problems.

The U.S. can continue to do more of what does not work as it spills oceans of blood in an orgy of death and destruction, or it can help to unite humanity in a common quest for the better lives we all seek for ourselves and for our children. One road will eventually lead to our annihilation and the other to our prosperity and well-being. The choice is ours.
