A few days ago, President Obama announced an "end to combat operations in Iraq." Of course that is a grossly misleading claim as he's leaving 50,000 U.S. troops, perhaps 50,000 U.S. mercenaries (the U.S. government doesn't say how many and the U.S. media doesn't ask) and perhaps 3,000 Special Operations soldiers, an elite fighting force.
This is President Obama's "Mission Accomplished" speech for Iraq, in a war that continues as the tragedy grows. In America, almost never does anyone publish what Iraqis think but it happened shortly after Mr. Obama spoke, with the participation of The New York Times. It came to us courtesy of Webmaster Jon Barnes. http://atwar.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/01/iraqis-reactions-to-president-obamas-speech/
I think you'll find it of interest.
