Suicide Now 4th Biggest U.S. Killer

Hard economic times, seemingly endless bad news and personal alienation and depression confront the U.S. and many other industrialized nations as suicide rates jump. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/03/health/suicide-rate-rises-sharply-in-us.html?nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20130503

So much of this horror and sadness could be eliminated if only more of us saw others as our brethren and offered them a helping hand and perhaps a few words of encouragement. For someone to take his or her own life tells us how meaningless and hopeless life came to be, although in some cases of clinical depression, there was little anyone could have done.

But in many cases, an expression of love and support could potentially have made a huge difference and we would still have those people in our lives and in our hearts.

What this world so desperately needs is love.
