Giving Thanks

Many people complain and worry about their lives, dissatisfied, fearful and frustrated.

But each of us has wondrous elements in our lives: people we love and who love us, a sense of the beauty that surrounds us, great works of literature, film, music and art at our fingertips and perhaps a roof over our heads and food in the refrigerator.

If our eyes can bring the world into our senses, our ears detect the most beautiful of sounds and our bodies lift themselves from bed each morning, as our legs take us where we want to go, and we have arms in which to hug others, those wondrous elements expand.

If we have our health, we have one of life's greatest blessings, as is the additional blessing of a bright mind.

Let us vanquish our complaints and worries with gratitude, and in that gratitude our hearts will be uplifted and joy will touch our souls.
