A Valuable Life Lesson

In 2015 I will turn 70 years of age. As I look back across time, I would like to share with you a valuable lesson from my childhood.

As a boy, I used to play and collect marbles. The marbles came in a wide variety of sizes and colors and some were flashy while others were dull. Some were in excellent condition while others had tiny chips or flaws.

But here is the lesson:

Despite their differences, they all set well together in the cigar boxes in which they were kept.

We as mankind are at least as smart as marbles and could surely treat each other as well, in our cigar boxes of life. A little love, forgiveness and compassion could go a very long way to getting us there.
