Is This The Way To Bring Peace?

In addition to all of its other weapons, including those of mass destruction and its "Kill Squads," the U.S. military will soon deploy small lethal drones according to a Los Angeles Times article today, reprinted in the U.S. Marine Corps Military Tech News http://conman-currentmil-technews.blogspot.com/2012/06/pentagon-to-soon-deploy-pint-sized-but.html

The intent for the new small drones is to kill fewer innocent men, women and children, but the best way to do that is stop fighting an ever growing number of enemies.

The U.S., by far the world's biggest debtor nation spends as much on its military as the rest of the world combined spends. Yet it never finds peace, as it now for the first time ever fighting perpetual wars, including wars in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and a continued presence in Iraq. It will pursue Al-Qaeda and other perceived enemies anywhere it thinks they are.

The U.S. also has well over a thousand military bases, by far more bases than the rest of the world combined and the American bases are located in nearly every corner of the globe. Of course for 40 years the U.S. has been fighting its War on Drugs in Mexico, Columbia, Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America.

So dear reader is this the way to bring peace? The results tell us loud and clear that it is not, yet as is the definition of insanity, we tragically continue to do what does not work and expect a different result.

If we as a nation want peace, we must pursue it by peaceful means, and recognize that we as mankind are brethren. They are us and we are them. And as we destroy "them," we are only destroying ourselves.
