A Secret To Success: Command Of Presence

Speaking to you as a former CEO, a significant secret to success is Command of Presence. What does that mean?

Whoever you are, stand tall. That is a sign of self-confidence, one most of us subliminally absorb as we quickly know who the leader is. If you are 4 feet in height, stand tall. If you are in a wheel chair, sit up straight. Let us feel your Command of Presence.

Another aspect of Command of Presence is not to complain. Leaders don't complain. They define the problem and then inspire each of us to take action to solve it. While most people complain and many blame others, leaders act.

A third aspect of Command of Presence is to acknowledge fear, something everyone sometimes feels, and then assure us with a solution to that which brought us fear.

During The Great Depression of the 1930's President Roosevelt assured us we had nothing to fear "but fear itself." And he had solutions to offer.

Command of Presence is available to each of us. People aren't necessarily born with this trait, they develop it through self-control and a positive state of mind. You can be one of those people if you make up your mind to be.
